Positively Fit Health Coaching

What We Do

Are you ready to make a positive change in your health but feel overwhelmed? Not sure where to start? Have tried before with no success? Then we might just be the right fit for you!  Building new routines for better health and wellness is hard work.  Add to this the myriad of choices for exercise and nutrition and your desired “Let’s Get Healthy!” project can feel at best daunting. Or worse – impossible!

But here is the good news! You don’t have to do it alone.  Just like hiring an accountant to get your finances on track, or career coach to fine tune your career direction and opportunities, Positively Fit Health Coaching is a teamwork approach to help develop realistic goals while revealing your capacity for healthy, lasting change.

Together we build better systems, habits and rituals that are the right approach for your schedule and lifestyle.  Ensuring success in your overall health and wellness plan means small, achievable steps built over time with check ins, self-tracking systems, accountability, goal adjustments, recognition and celebration of milestones, support when you feel overwhelmed, and brainstorming to find the right solution when something feels unworkable.  All together these coaching strategies keep you inspired and on track while you define and achieve your most important asset: your health. Putting yourself in the driver seat of a healthier more resilient you is just around the corner!

“A dynamic and positive mixture of EQ (emotional intelligence), IQ and cheerleader, Mary is the perfect health coach.”

Work With Me

I stumbled across my passion for fitness leadership in 1984 and took it on full time opening Positively Fit in 1997. Realizing that inspired fitness coaching is my calling, I have continued to hone my skills to include an ACE certification in Health & Wellness Coaching.  The last 30 + years working in Health and Wellness has taught me a world of lessons, tips and tricks for what works and what doesn’t when it comes to helping people change their life in a sustainable, meaningful way. I embrace a “Real Wellness” approach where the ultimate goal is to find traction from the inside out.  My personal experience with breast cancer in 2013 and year of treatment gave me a deep understanding how to unearth strength and build the tools to persevere through a critical illness.  Along with certifications in Health & Wellness Coaching and Personal Training, Mary has completed training in Osteofit, Third Age, 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, and has a double degree in History and Communications from SFU. Her love of fitness and passion for her community has culminated in creating numerous fun & fundraising events including TRI for CHAC, Aaron’s Run, The Reindeer Run and most recently Bowen Island’s sweetheart event SwimBowen, an open water swim raising funds for Bowen Islanders enduring cancer treatment.
